Now that school is back in session the Springettsbury Township Police Department would like to remind residents to drive carefully and to be mindful of children waiting for and getting off of school buses.  The PA vehicle code states that the driver of a vehicle meeting or overtaking any school bus stopped on a highway or trafficway shall stop at least ten feet before reaching the school bus when the red signal lights on the school bus are flashing and the side stop signal arms are activated.  A conviction of this section of the vehicle code is a $250.00 fine, 5 points against your driving record, and a six month suspension of your driving privilege.
