Suspect Arrested after Fleeing Police

On Friday 10/12/2012 police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of East Market Street (462) and Yorklyn Gate for driving erratically.  As the officer approached the vehicle to make contact with the driver, the operator fled.  He traveled a short distance on East Market and then struck a utility pole.  The operator then exited the vehicle and fled on foot where he was apprehended a short time later in Hellam Boro.  John P Kane III of York, PA was charged with DUI and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police.  He was transported to the York County Central Booking Facility for arraignment.
