On Tuesday 1/29/2013 police were called the parking lots of two local businesses for reported thefts from vehicles. One of the vehicles was parked in the parking lot of Books A Million on Whiteford Road and the other was parked in front of Micheals in the Galleria West complex. In both cases, the passenger side window was smashed out by and unknown object. Kindle electronic readers were taken from both vehicles. Anyone with any information about these crimes is asked to contact the Springettsbury Township Police at 717-757-3525.
Police would also like to remind everyone to keep valuables hidden when left in a parked vehicle. Most of these incidents are crimes of opportunity. If a criminal sees something valuable out in the open he/she is more likely to target that vehicle. And ALWAYS lock your doors.
