Between May 15th and 17th the Springettsbury Township Police responded to five reported cases of theft from vehicles.  On 5/15/13 police were called to 3711 Pleasant Valley Road and 3801 Ridgewood Road where both victims reported that their vehicles were entered and property removed.  Both of these occurred during the overnight hours.  On 5/17/13 police were called to 174 Sylvan Drive and 3818 Concord Road where, again, both victims reported that their vehicles were entered and property was taken.

One of the easiest ways to prevent your vehicle from being entered is to keep it locked.  The majority of vehicle break-ins reported to police occur to unlocked vehicles.  It is also important to keep all electronics, such as GPS units, I-pods, laptop computers, etc, out of view when stored in your vehicle.  It is a good idea to also remove the mounting hardware from your windshield or dashboard, removing any signs of electronics.  If you must leave items in the car, lock them in the trunk. If you have folding rear seats, make sure those are locked, too.
