On 7/25/2013 at 8:23 pm Springettsbury Township Police responded to an accident on E. Philadelphia St. at N. Harlan St. On arrival officers discovered that Robert Leavens (18) of York was injured when he fell from the skateboard that he was riding. Leavens had been riding his skateboard west in the 2100 block of E. Philadelphia St. as he hung onto the side of a Ford Escape driven by Payton Royer (18) of York.
Leavens was transported to York Hospital for treatment. Leavens died on 7/27/2013 as a result of the injuries he sustained in the accident.
