Robbery of a Motor Vehicle- Central York Middle School, 1950 North Hills Road

On March 17th at approximately 9:57 PM Police were called to the parking lot of Central York Middle School for a reported Car Jacking.  Investigation revealed that a male entered the driver’s seat of a Lexus ES300 occupied by two passengers who were waiting for the driver.  The male put the vehicle in reverse and began to back up.  Both passengers were able to flee the vehicle.  One of the victims sustained an injury to his hand while trying to get the other passenger out of the vehicle.   The suspect fled the scene in the Lexus and was located a short time later at an address on Farmbrook Lane in York.  He was taken into custody at that location with the assistance of the Northern York County Regional Police, without incident.  Further investigation revealed that, prior to the robbery, the actor was also involved in several erratic driving complaints and a hit and run where he drove through yards and hit trash cans in the 1800 block of Ridgewood Road .   After the vehicle he was driving became disabled in a ditch, he fled the scene.  Shortly after these reports, the male took the Lexus.  The male, identified as Jordan Stein of East Prospect, was transported to York County Central  Booking where he was arraigned on the following charges.

Robbery, Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Aggravated Assault (2 Counts), Recklessly Endangering Another Person (2 Counts), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance, and Hit and Run (3 Counts).

Hit and Run- East Market Street at North Hills Road

The victim advised that he was involved in a minor accident on his way to work this morning. The other vehicle then left the scene.

Retail Theft- Wal-Mart, 2801 East Market Street

Responded to Walmart, 2801 E. Market St. for a retail theft.  Upon my arrival  the complainant  advised that an unknown subject stole merchandise and fled.  Information was obtained for further investigation.

Theft- 2331 East Market Street

On 3/17/2014 at approximately 1500 hours this department was advised that an employee at Virtual October, 2331 E Market St, had been let go on 3/10/2014.  The employee was in possession of company equipment, totaling $3,140.00 and had not yet returned the items.

Retail Theft- Boscovs, 2899 Whiteford Road

Responded to Boscov’s, 2899 Whiteford Rd. for a retail theft.  Upon  arrival the complainant  advised that he was holding an adult male for stealing merchandise.  I obtained information and charges to be filed.

Theft- 835 Ridgewood Road

On 3/17/2014 at approximately 1843 hours this department was dispatched to 835 Ridgewood Rd for a theft report.  The victim’s .40 caliber semi-auto pistol was taken from the residence between 3/14 and 3/15.
