On February 13, Springettsbury Townsip Police Department’s Patrolman William Polizzotto and K9 Petro went to Central York High School to present to the Law classes as part of the Student-Police Partnership between CYHS Law classes and Springettsbury Township Police Department.  The Law class is a required course in the Public Service strand of the Health Sciences and Human Services Academy.

The purpose of this Partnership is to strengthen the relationship between students and police, as well as to expose students to the many career opportunities offered within the realm of Public Service, as well as to put them in contact with community members representing the many opportunities open in the Criminal Justice field, beyond to typical “lawyer” and “police officer”.

On February 12th, 2015 Det. Ford and Ofc. Coyle were presenting on the organization and responsibilities of the various types of officers within STPD. There also was a question and answer session.  The presentations were given to 2 class periods of 11th and 12th graders, roughly 60 students.
