On Sunday August 2nd, 2015 a Springettsbury Township Police Officer was on patrol in the parking lot of Wal-Mart when he observed a male subject running from the parking lot south across East Market Street.  A witness then flagged him down and reported that a theft occurred and the male running was the suspect.   As the officer investigated further York County Control advised that they were on the line with another witness who was following her boyfriend who was chasing the suspect on foot.  Officers responded to the area of the First Capital Federal Credit Union where the witness was detaining the suspect.  Upon arrival of the officer, Nathaniel P. McNicol, of no fixed address, was taken into custody without incident.  He was positively identified by the victim as the male that took her wallet from inside her purse as she was loading groceries into her vehicle.  McNicol was transported to York County Central Booking to be arraigned on the charges of Theft and Receiving Stolen Property.
