On May 8th, 2016 STPD Officers handled 19 incidents, 2  motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

 

Hit and Run-Banana Max, 2650 Eastern Blvd

At 0233 hours an Officer responded to Banana Max for the report of a hit and run that occurred in the parking lot.  The victim reported his Honda Civic was struck by a large yellow van that left without exchanging information.  A tag number was obtained with further investigation needed to identify the driver.

Criminal Mischief to a vehicle-100 Block of S Vernon St

At 1245 hours the victim reported that a tire on his vehicle was damaged while it was parked on the street in front of the residence.

 

Simple Assault-Fat Daddy’s, 2510 E Market St

At 1510 hours the victim responded to the station to report an assault that occurred at Fat Daddy’s on this date at 0215 hours.  The victim sustained a laceration to his head and provided a possible name for the suspect.  The investigation is ongoing.

 

Retail Theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 2042 hours an Officer was dispatched to Walmart for the report of an adult female in custody for retail theft.  The female reportedly switched tags on merchandise resulting in a loss over $10.  The female was cited for retail theft and released.

While an Officer was at Walmart handling a retail theft that just occurred, information was provided about another retail theft that occurred on 5/5/16.  Loss prevention employees advised several subjects loaded a cart with $134 worth of merchandise and left without paying.  A tag number was obtained for the suspect’s vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.
