On Sunday May 22nd 2016, STPD Officers handled 18 incidents and investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Public drunkenness-Village East Apartments, 3400 Eastern Blvd

At 0012 hours Officers responded to the Village East Apartments for the report of an unknown intoxicated female who entered into the caller’s apartment and began yelling at him.  Contact was made with the female who told police that she thought she was at her own apartment.  The female was highly intoxicated and was actually in the wrong building.  Charges to be filed.

Public drunkenness-E Market St at Northern Way

At 0201 hours an Officer was monitoring traffic at the intersection of E Market St and Northern Way when a vehicle stopped at the intersection and a male passenger got out.  The subject began to urinate in the roadway and shortly thereafter realized a marked patrol unit was parked nearby.  The subject was cited for Public Drunkenness and released.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1458 hours Officers responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft that just occurred.  Employees advised a white male and a white female were stopped after leaving the store with $525 worth of merchandise without paying.  The subjects abandoned the stolen merchandise and fled on foot when confronted by loss prevention employees.

Retail theft-Books A Million, 3000 Whiteford Rd

At 1507 hours an Officer responded to BAM for the report of a retail theft where the suspect had fled.  The suspect was reported to have taken $15 worth of Magic the Gathering cards and fled in a maroon SUV.  A tag number was obtained with further investigation needed.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1613 hours a Walmart employee reported a retail theft of $216 worth of meat and seafood.  An unknown male left the store without paying for the items and when confronted by employees, the male abandoned the merchandise and fled in a vehicle.  The tag number for the vehicle was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

 

Harassment-Eagle’s Nest, 2519 Mt Rose Ave

At 1800 hours the victim came to the station to report harassment by communication that occurred while the victim was at the Eagle’s Nest.  The victim advised a known subject has been sending threatening messages and repeatedly calling her phone.  Investigation to continue.

DUI crash-Second Ave at S Findlay St

At 1720 hours Officers were dispatched to the above intersection for the report of a motor vehicle accident.  Investigation revealed a Dodge Ram truck struck a parked vehicle and the operator of the Dodge was found to be under the influence.  He was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking where he was charged with his 5th offense of DUI.
