Daily Report-Thursday May 26th, 2016

On Wednesday May 25th 2016, STPD Officers handled 24 incidents, investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI- Mt Zion Rd at Whiteford Rd

At 0103 hours Officers responded to the intersection of Mt Zion Rd and Whiteford Rd for the report of a vehicle stopped at this location with a female driver who was asleep behind the wheel.  Officers made contact with the female and found she was intoxicated.  She was transported to Central Booking for a blood test and subsequently charged with her 2nd offense of DUI.

Burglary/Auto theft-Morningside Dr

At 0343 hours Officers responded to a residence on Morningside Dr for the report of a burglary.  The victim advised an unknown person entered his apartment sometime during the night and took his wallet and the keys to his vehicle.  The suspect then took the vehicle which had been parked in front of the building.  The vehicle is a silver 2011 Toyota Corolla bearing Florida tags.  Investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft/Possession of drug paraphernalia-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1325 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of an adult male in custody for retail theft.  Loss prevention employees advised the male left the store without paying for $10 worth of merchandise.  Police also found the male to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was released with charges to be filed.

Theft-Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, 118 Pleasant Acres Rd

At 1510 hours an Officer responded to the Pleasant Acres Nursing Home for the report of a theft of jewelry.  The victim was a resident who advised jewelry valued at $150 was taken from her room on 5/22/16 while she was at church.  Investigation to continue.

Retail theft-Target, 2610 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 2027 hours an Officer responded to Target for the report of a juvenile female in custody for retail theft.  Loss prevention employees advised the female left the store without paying for $226 worth of merchandise.  The female was released to a guardian with charges to be filed.
