Daily Report for July 17th, 2016

On Sunday July 17th STPD Officers handled 16 incidents, investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 3 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Impersonating a public servant-200 block of Haines Rd

At 2032 hours Officers responded to a residence on Haines Rd for the report of a subject who was trespassing and identified himself as a Springettsbury Police Officer.  The homeowner questioned the male and detained him until the arrival of Police.  The male subject was identified and admitted to falsely identifying himself as a Police Officer.  Charges to be filed.

Attempted theft from vehicle-500 block of Ardmore Ln

At 2313 hours Officers responded to a residence on Ardmore Ln for the report of an attempted theft from a vehicle.  The caller advised he went outside and found a male rummaging through his vehicle which had been left unlocked.  The caller yelled at the male and the male fled on foot without taking anything.  Officers checked the area extensively but the male could not be located.
