On Monday April 24th STPD Officers handled 23 incidents, investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 3 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Theft of services-Yorkshire Garage, 91 Longstown Rd

At 1109 hours an Officer met with an employee of Yorkshire Garage for the report of a theft of services.  The employee advised that repairs were completed on a vehicle and the owner of the vehicle took the vehicle from the lot without paying for the repairs.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Kohls, 2600 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1430 hours an Officer responded to Kohls for two males in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the males had taken a total of $488 worth of merchandise without paying.  The males were released with misdemeanor charges to be filed.

Theft-KMart, 1094 Haines Rd

At 1727 hours an Officer responded to KMart for the report of a theft of a purse.  The victim advised her purse was taken out of her shopping cart while she was inside the store.  The theft was captured on video surveillance and the suspect was identified through further investigation.  The purse was later recovered at the suspect’s residence and charges will be filed.

Access device fraud-3000 block of Barwood Rd

At 2310 hours an Officer took a report for access device fraud from a victim who lives on Barwood Rd.  The victim advised his bank card number was used to withdraw over $1500 from his account in Miami, FL.
