On Tuesday July 18th STPD Officers handled 24 incidents, investigated 6 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Retail theft-Giant, 2415 E Market St

At 0755 hours an Officer responded to Giant for the report of a retail theft that occurred earlier.  An employee advised a female had taken $53 worth of merchandise without paying and left the parking lot in a vehicle.  The tag number of the vehicle was provided and the investigation is ongoing.

Theft-3300 block of Concord Rd

At 0810 an Officer responded to a business on Concord Rd for a theft report.  The victim advised a handgun was taken out of his desk drawer within the past two months.

Retail theft-Home Depot, 2905 E Market St

At 0930 hours an Officer observed a subject acting suspicious in the parking lot of Home Depot.  Contact was made with the subject and it was discovered that he had just stolen $299 worth of merchandise from the store.  The male was transported to Central Booking and charged with his fourth offense of retail theft, a felony.

Access device fraud-Sam’s Club, 2801 E Market St

At 1255 hours an Officer met with the victim for a report of access device fraud.  The victim advised her wallet was stolen and her card was used at Sam’s Club on 7/7/17.  The investigation is ongoing.

Criminal mischief-Martin Foot and Ankle, 2300 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1537 hours an Officer responded to the business for the report of criminal mischief to a vehicle.  The victim advised that an unknown person had used a sharp object to damage the paint on her vehicle while it was parked in the lot.

Escape, Youth Development Center, 3564 Heindel Rd

At 2037 hours an Officer responded to YDC for the report of a resident who escaped.  A staff member advised the resident fled from the facility but was caught shortly thereafter.  He was returned to YDC and charges will be filed.

Criminal mischief-1700 block of Long Dr

At 2109 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Long Dr for a criminal mischief report.  The victim advised an unknown person had damaged the rear door of her residence.
