On Wednesday July 19th STPD Officers handled 36 incidents, investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 3 burglar alarms. Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:
Theft-Suburban Park Apartments, Carnegie Rd
At 0927 hours an Officer responded to the Suburban Park Apts for the report of a theft from a storage unit. The victim advised his storage unit had been entered and someone removed $300 worth of property.
Vehicle theft-Weis Markets, 2400 E Market St
At 1300 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of a stolen vehicle. The victim advised that he and a female known as “Choochie” visited Weis Markets on 7/17/17. The victim entered the store while “Choochie” remained in his vehicle in the parking lot. When the victim came out of the store his vehicle was gone. The vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf, was entered into NCIC as stolen.
Hit and run-Eisenhower Dr
At 1340 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Eisenhower Dr for a hit and run report. The victim advised his vehicle was struck while it was parked in the lot sometime overnight.
Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St
At 1420 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft. An employee advised the female had taken $67 worth of merchandise without paying. The female was cited for summary retail theft and released.
Simple assault/Strangulation-1800 block of Ridgewood Rd
At 1945 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of an assault. The victim advised a male had assaulted her today and on 6/15/17. The male was located at the residence and taken into custody. He was transported to Central Booking and charged with simple assault and strangulation.
Retail theft-Boscovs, 2899 Whiteford Rd
At 2041 hours an Officer responded to Boscovs for a juvenile female in custody for retail theft. An employee advised the female had taken $7 worth of merchandise without paying. The female was turned over to a guardian and charges will be filed.
