On Friday July 28th STPD Officers handled 28 incidents and investigated 5 motor vehicle accidents. Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:
Hit and run-Stonybrook Dr at Throne Ave
At 1123 hours an Officer responded to this intersection for the report of a tractor trailer that struck several pieces of construction equipment. A witness followed the striking vehicle to a nearby business and police make contact with the driver. Charges are pending further investigation.
Theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St
At 1515 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a theft report. A manager advised cash had been taken on 7/9/17 and provided suspect information. Charges to be filed.
Hit and run-Sam’s Club, 2801 E Market St
At 1515 hours an Officer responded to Sam’s Club for the report of a hit and run that occurred in the parking lot. A witness observed a vehicle strike a parked vehicle and they obtained the striking vehicle’s tag number. The investigation is ongoing.
Access device fraud-North Hills Apartments, 1800 N Hills Rd
At 1848 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of unauthorized charges that were made using her credit card information. The victim advised she just discovered an unknown person made over $1000 in purchases from various internet sites using her credit card numbers.
False alarm-Quality Inn, 2600 E Market St
At 2343 hours an Officer responded to the Quality Inn for the report of a false fire alarm. Investigation revealed an unknown person had pulled a fire alarm at the hotel for no legitimate reason.
