Daily Report for September 5th, 2017

On Tuesday September 5th STPD Officers handled 34 incidents and investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1403 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft in progress.  An employee advised a male was about to leave the store with merchandise that was not purchased.  The male was stopped and it was determined that he had $76 worth of stolen merchandise.  He was cited for summary retail theft and released.

Retail theft-Lowes, 2449 E Market St

At 1422 hours an Officer responded to Lowes for the report of a retail theft where the suspect had fled.  An employee advised the male had taken $377 worth of merchandise and fled when confronted.  Photos of the suspect were disseminated for identification assistance.

Access device fraud-Bon Ton Corporate Center, 2801 E Market St

At 1814 hours an Officer responded to the Bon Ton Corporate Center for the report of an employee theft.  A loss prevention employee advised an internal investigation was conducted and it was learned that an employee had made unauthorized purchases of $1826 worth of merchandise.  Charges to be filed.
