On Friday October 20th STPD Officers handled 45 incidents, investigated 5 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI-Eastern Blvd at Northern Way

At 0209 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Eastern Blvd.  The driver was found to be intoxicated and he was arrested for DUI.  He was taken to Central Booking and refused a blood test.  Charges will be filed for his first offense of DUI.

Theft by deception-1900 block of Wallace St

At 0946 hours an Officer took a report for a theft by deception.  The victim advised she was the victim of an online scan in which she deposited what turned out to be counterfeit checks in her bank account and wired money to the suspect.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Kohls, 2600 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1153 hours an Officer responded to Kohls for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $683 worth of merchandise without paying.  She was released with charges to be filed.

Retail theft/Theft by deception-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1243 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a male in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the male had taken $10 in merchandise without paying.  He had also conducted a fraudulent return and was in the store despite being banned due to a prior theft.  He was transported to Central Booking and charged with several offenses.
