On Wednesday December 6th STPD Officers handled 29 incidents, investigated 1 motor vehicle accident and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 0926 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft where the suspect fled.  An employee advised a male had taken $8 worth of merchandise without paying.  He left the area in a vehicle and the tag number was obtained.  The male was identified and charges will be filed.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle-2800 block of Mt Rose Ave

At 1100 hours an Officer met with the victim for an unauthorized use report.  The victim advised he allowed someone to use his vehicle last month but it has not been returned.  The vehicle was later located in York City.

Criminal mischief-Best Buy, 2865 Concord Rd

At 1130 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of criminal mischief to a vehicle that occurred on 12/5/17 at Best Buy.  The victim advised an unknown person had damaged his vehicle’s tires while he was inside the store.

Weis Markets, 2400 E Market St

At 1744 hours an Officer responded to Weis Markets for a male in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the male had taken $34 worth of merchandise without paying.  He was cited and released.

Identity theft/Theft by deception-Verizon, 2899 Whiteford Rd

At 2050 hours Officers responded to the Verizon store at the Galleria Mall for the report of a male using a fake ID card in an attempt to commit a fraudulent purchase.  The suspect was taken into custody and it was discovered that he used the identity of a person who lived in Washington State in an attempt to purchase over $3,300 worth of cell phones.  The suspect was taken to Central Booking and charged with several offenses.

Theft-first block of Locust Grove Rd

At 2121 hours Officers responded to a residence near Locust Grove Rd for a theft report. The victim advised that a known person had stolen her holiday decorations and she went to the suspect’s house to get them back.  The person who stole the items was identified and charges are pending.
