On Monday January 8th STPD Officers handled 31 incidents, investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 burglar alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI-Taco Bell, 2411 E Market St

At 0142 hours an Officer responded to Taco Bell for the report of a subject passed out in a vehicle.  The subject was found to be intoxicated and he was arrested for DUI.  He was transported to the hospital for a blood test and then to Central Booking for processing.  Charges were completed due to this being the subject’s second DUI offense.

Possession of marijuana-E Market St at S Russell St

At 0840 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on E Market St.  The driver of the vehicle was found to have a warrant for his arrest.  The driver was taken into custody and a search of his person revealed he was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.  He was taken to Central Booking for the warrant and charges will be filed.

Vehicle theft-Avis Rental, 3623 E Market St

At 1300 hours an Officer responded to Avis for a vehicle theft report.  An employee advised a subject rented a vehicle in November of 2017 and never returned it.  The subject was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Possession of drug paraphernalia-Wyndamere Ct

At 1642 hours an Officer responded to Wyndamere Ct for the report of a suspicious vehicle.  Investigation revealed a subject in the vehicle was in possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was released with charges to be filed.

Retail theft-Super Shoes, 2541 E Market St

At 1621 hours an Officer responded to Super Shoes for the report of a retail theft that occurred earlier.  An employee advised a female had taken $47 worth of merchandise without paying.  The female’s identity was known and the investigation is ongoing.

Access device fraud/False ID to law enforcement-2400 block of E Market St

At 1928 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on E Market St.  Investigation led to a search of the vehicle which yielded numerous items related to skimming and creating credit cards.  The male in possession of the items provided false information concerning his identity.  He was transported to Central Booking and charges were completed.
