On Tuesday January 30th, 2018 Springettsbury Township Police officers were dispatched to 22 Incidents, 2 false alarms and investigated 4 motor vehicle crashes.  In addition, the following crimes were investigated.

Hit and Run- 705 Witmer Road-

Police responded to 705 Witmer Rd. for a hit and run report. The victim reported that when she came outside she found an unoccupied vehicle in her lawn. That vehicle struck a Verizon utility pole and the complainant’s mail box. The driver of that vehicle did not remain on scene. Suspect information has been obtained.

Retail Theft-Walmart

On 1/30/2018 at 1159 hrs, Police responded to Walmart for a retail theft. Upon arrival, it was found that a w/m and b/f took 28 miscellaneous items valued at $304.05 and concealed them into a black back pack and plastic Walmart shopping bags. After they exited Walmart they were stopped by loss prevention and the police responded. The male and female were identified with charges to be filed.

Retail Theft-Walmart

Police responded to Walmart, 2801 East Market St. for a retail theft. Loss prevention had a juvenile male in custody. Loss prevention reported that the male stole 3 items valued at $34.13. The juvenile was released to his father and will be referred to the Youth Aid Panel.

Theft by Deception-Walmart

Police were dispatched to the business for a subject in custody for returning stolen merchandise. Once on scene loss prevention advised that they detained a subject after an exchange was made with stolen merchandise.  The subject was identified and charges will be filed.

Burglary- 37 Jamison Drive

On January 30, 2018 at 1828 hours the police were called to  37 Jamison Dr for a report of a burglary. Investigation revealed that a burglary did occur and items were stolen from the residence. Investigation Ongoing.

Forgery- 2221 East Philadelphia Street

On January 30th 2018 at approximately 1833 hours police were dispatched to 2221 E Philadelphia St for a fraud report. The investigation revealed a male suspect used the victim’s check to withdraw $150.00 with out the victim’s permission.
