On Friday February 16th STPD Officers handled 21 incidents, investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 4 burglar alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Weapon on School Property-Central York Middle School, 1950 N Hills Rd

At 0648 hours the School Resource Officer took a report concerning a weapon being at the school on 2/15/18.  Investigation revealed a student posted a photo of himself holding what was later found to be a BB gun while on school property.  Two students were interviewed and the BB gun was recovered.  The investigation is ongoing.

Theft from a vehicle-1700 block of Argyle Dr

At 0850 hours an Office met with the victim for the report of a theft that was discovered on 2/15/18.  The victim advised a wallet was taken from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at her home.

Hit and run-E Market St at N Hills Rd

At 1140 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of a hit and run that occurred on 2/15/18.  The victim advised his vehicle was struck by a silver Toyota Rav4 which fled the area without providing any information.

Retail theft-Kohls, 2600 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1301 hours an Officer responded to Kohls for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the female had taken $112 worth of merchandise without paying.  She was cited and released.

Simple assault-Arooga’s, 1211 Haines Rd

At 1345 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of an assault that occurred on 12/26/17.  A suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Theft from a vehicle-Avis Rental, 3623 E Market St

At 1430 hours an Officer met with the victim for the report of a theft.  The victim advised her vehicle was parked in the lot of Avis from 2/10/18-2/14/18.  The vehicle was left unlocked and a handgun and a passport were taken.

Hit and run-E Market St at Cinema Dr

At 1440 hours an Officer met with the victim for a hit and run report.  The victim stated that his vehicle was struck by a green sedan on E Market St and the sedan fled the area without providing any information.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1615 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for the report of a retail theft that just occurred.  An employee advised a male had taken $7 worth of merchandise and got into a vehicle and fled the scene.  The vehicle was located and stopped and the male was identified.  He was cited and released.

Hit and run-Memory Ln at Industrial Hwy

At 1640 hours an Officer met with the victim for a hit and run report.  The victim stated that his vehicle was struck on 2/9/18 and the striking vehicle fled the area without providing any information.  A tag number was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.
