On Thursday July 12th STPD Officers handled 42 incidents, investigated 4 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

Robbery-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1136 hours Officers responded to the parking lot of Walmart for the report of a robbery.  The victim reported that three males approached him in his vehicle and took his wallet and his watch.  One of the males was to be armed with a handgun.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Home Depot, 2905 E Market St

At 1145 hours an Officer responded to Home Depot for the report of a retail theft where the suspect had fled.  An employee advised a male had taken $552 worth of merchandise and fled when confronted.  The suspect ran to the parking lot of Walmart where Officers were on scene investigating the robbery.  The suspect was taken into custody and found to have two prior convictions for retail theft and an active warrant.  He was transported to Central Booking and charged with his third offense, a felony.

Retail theft-Walmart, 2801 E Market St

At 1730 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a male in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised the male had taken $24 worth of merchandise without paying.  He was cited for summary retail theft and released.

Retail theft-Home Depot, 2905 E Market St

At 1815 hours an Officer responded to Home Depot for the report of a retail theft where the suspect fled.  An employee advised a male took $238 worth of merchandise and fled when confronted.  He was last seen getting into a black Lexus sedan.

DUI/Endangering the welfare of a child-E Market St at Cinema Dr

At 1916 hours Officers responded to E Market St for the report of a dispute.  The investigation revealed a male was intoxicated and driving an electric scooter with a 4 year old child riding as a passenger.  The male then got into an altercation with the caller, who knew the male.  He was arrested for DUI and transported to Central Booking where he was charges with several offenses to include his third DUI.

Retail theft-Target, 2610 Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1955 hours an Officer responded to Target for the report of a retail theft where the suspect fled.  An employee advised a male had taken $249 worth of merchandise and left in a vehicle.  The suspect was identified and charges are pending further investigation.

Theft-Hambledon Ct

At 2308 hours an Officer responded to Hambledon Ct for the report of a subject yelling and causing a disturbance.  It was discovered the male was upset because someone had stolen his cell phone from his porch.
