Fatal Crash

On September 12^th 2018 at 1539 hours, Springettsbury Township Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash involving entrapment at the intersection of Mt Zion Rd (SR24) and Whiteford Rd.  A 1999 Toyota Corolla was being operated north in the left turn lane of Mt Zion Rd at Whiteford Rd.  This Toyota was occupied by a 51-year-old female driver from Windsor, 66-year-old male front passenger from Red Lion and an 18-year-old female right rear passenger from Red Lion.  A 2011 Ford F150 was being operated south in the southbound lane of Mt Zion Rd at Whiteford Rd.  This Ford was occupied by a 61-year-old male driver from York.  The Toyota turned left into the path of the Ford resulting in the crash.  The 66-year-old male front passenger in the Toyota died due to injuries sustained in the crash.  Both other occupants of the Toyota sustained serious injuries and were transported to York Hospital to be treated.   The driver of the Ford was also transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
