On Thursday September 20th STPD Officers handled 43 incidents, investigated 2 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 1 alarm.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI- E Market St at Northern Way

At 0121 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a violation at this intersection.  The driver was found to be under the influence and she was arrested for DUI.  She was taken to Central Booking for a blood test and processing.  Charges were completed due to this being her second DUI offense.

Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 0242 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for two subjects in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised they had taken $110 worth of merchandise without paying.  They were cited and released.

Access device fraud-Member’s 1st FCU, Whiteford Rd

At 1229 hours an Officer met with the victim who reported someone used his bank card without authorization.  Suspect information was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

Criminal mischief-Candlewood Suites, N Hills Rd

At 1238 hours an Officer responded to the hotel for the report of damage found to a room after a guest checked out.  The investigation is ongoing.

DUI-E Market St at Mills St

At 1506 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on E Market St and the driver was found to be under the influence.  She was transported to the hospital for a blood test and then to Central Booking for processing.  Charges pending blood test results.

Criminal mischief-Target, Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1538 hours an Officer responded to Target for the report of graffiti that was painted on the building on 9/15/18.

Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1540 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a female in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised she had taken $74 worth of merchandise and she was released with charges to be filed.

Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1540 hours an Officer was advised of a retail theft that occurred on 9/6/18.  An employee advised a subject took $356 worth of merchandise without paying.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1540 hours an Officer was advised of a retail theft that occurred on 9/18/18.  An employee advised a subject took $796 worth of merchandise without paying.  The investigation is ongoing.

Firearms offense/Recklessly endangering another person-Williams Rd

At 1648 hours Officers responded to the area of Williams Rd for the report of subjects firing a gun from a vehicle.  The vehicle was located and a handgun was recovered.  One adult and two juveniles were taken into custody.  The adult was taken to Central Booking and charged and the juveniles were released to a parent.

Retail theft-Sam’s Club, E Market St

At 1731 hours an Officer responded to Sam’s Club for the report of a retail theft that occurred on 9/14/18.  An employee advised a female took $365 worth of merchandise without paying.  The investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft/Fugitive from justice/False ID/Possession of marijuana-Kohls, Pleasant Valley Rd

At 1755 hours Officers responded to Kohls for a retail theft in progress.  Investigation revealed 3 subjects attempted to take $3,096 worth of merchandise without paying.  They were taken into custody and one of the subjects was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.  Another subject provided a false name and was later found to be wanted in MD and VA.  All three were taken to Central Booking and charged.

Vehicle theft-Planet Fitness, Greensprings Dr

At 2115 hours an Officer met with the victim at Planet Fitness for a vehicle theft report.  The victim advised someone took his keys off the gym’s key board and stole his vehicle from the parking lot.  The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen.
