On Thursday September 27th STPD Officers handled 36 incidents, investigated 3 motor vehicle accidents, and responded to 2 alarms.  Of those incidents the following crimes were reported:

DUI-Northern Way at Concord Rd

At 0019 hours an Officer conducted a traffic stop on Concord Rd and found the driver was under the influence.  He was arrested for DUI and taken to Central Booking for a blood test and processing.  Charges pending blood test results.

Theft-Strine Heating and Cooling, Coffee Mill Ln

At 0901 hours an Officer responded to Strine for the report of a theft that just occurred.  An employee advised a male just stole some copper pipes and fled in a silver SUV.  A tag number was obtained and the investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1252 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for a retail theft that just occurred.  An employee advised three subjects took $20 worth of merchandise without paying.  They all fled on foot when confronted and were last seen running towards Northern Way.

Retail theft-Walmart, E Market St

At 1410 hours an Officer responded to Walmart for two females in custody for retail theft.  An employee advised they had taken $158 worth of merchandise without paying.  They were released with charges to be filed.

Retail theft/Fleeing and eluding-Walmart, E Market St

At 1432 hours while handling the previous retail theft, an employee advised a female was about to leave the store without paying for $67 worth of merchandise.  The female fled when confronted and entered a vehicle in the parking lot.  The vehicle then fled from police at a high rate of speed.  It was also found this female stole $296 worth of merchandise on 9/25.  The female was identified and charges will be filed.

Hit and run-Home Depot, E Market St

At 1435 hours an Officer met with the victim who reported his vehicle was struck in the parking lot yesterday while he was in the store.  Some information was provided by the driver of the striking vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.

Retail theft-Rutters, Arsenal Rd

At 1638 hours an Officer responded to Rutters for the report of a retail theft that occurred earlier.  An employee advised a male took $3 worth of merchandise without paying.  The male was identified and charges will be filed.

Vehicle theft/Criminal mischief-Ridgewood Rd

At 1704 hours an Officer responded to a residence on Ridgewood Rd for the report of a stolen vehicle.  The victim advised a known subject had taken a vehicle from the property and in the course of taking the vehicle he had damaged property at a neighbor’s residence.  The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen and the investigation is ongoing.

Propulsion of missiles onto a roadway-Haines Rd

At 2131 hours an Officer responded to Haines Rd for the report of a female throwing furniture and several other objects into the roadway following a neighbor dispute.  The items blocked the roadway causing a traffic problem and charges will be filed.
